Safari Part 2

The safari consist of a 3 hour jeep ride around the reserve. Once our car ride was over, we had a walk around the aviary where we had a chance to look at some exotic birds. We also saw tortoises, cheetahs and monkeys. 

The one thing I really enjoyed hearing about the park was that all the animals could escape if they wanted, but they choose not to! They have everything they need: food, water, friends and space to run. The rhinos were behind a little fence made of blackberry bushes that they could easily smash through. Also, its a non-profit park so all the money we pay to go on the safari goes to care for the animals or for scientific research.

Birthday Surprise

On the 19th of August, on Veronica's 15th birthday, Grandma and Grandpa had a big surprise for us! All they told us was that we couldn't wear skirts or open shoes. Me and Veronica were both really excited trying to guess where we were going. Veronica thought we were going to a car factory, while I thought we were going to a hummingbird house. We got in the car for a long 2.5 hour ride. But it was definitely worth it once we got there!

Yep, it was a Safari!

Me and Veronica were very surprised! It was better than we were expecting. We had an awesome guide who took us around the park. He told us lots of interesting facts about the animals and stories behind them.

Here are some of the animals we got to see:

-  Giraffes
-   Zebras
-   Rhinos
- Gazelles
-  Cheetahs
-    Buffalo
  - Wildebeest

          -And lots lots more
